Brukselde neler oluyor? Fasulye bakla bakla, pismiyor bana bakiyor, hayirdir insallaah, hey!!!

Hani you know there are some ppl in this life that never do the cleaning, their room stinks most of the time and wait for a long time to tidy his room falan. and when he does it, he does well.. So I am one of these ppl, I dont write for a long time and then write a very looong post..

simdi alakaya cay demle oldu biraz ama, hani bi benzetmeyle baslayayim dedim ama olmadi pek heralde.. neyse siz anladiniz yazarin parcada ne anlatmak istedigini..:))

Yess I am in Brussels finally.. Will be doing a traineeship as an OEM purchasing analyst. which is .. quitee good for me, vallahi billahi ilk gunden cok sevdim, i hope it will gooo like this..Say massallah. scratch your ass.. (it is a Tkish saying.. by scratching i mean outside, not in..)

Neyse efendim, here are some recent things happening in my life...I wrote titles to make it more user friendly

an apostille story
I came here last friday after soo many adventures. Of course I was expecting that.. I cant tell you a visa that I got without a problem at all.. yes, none.. (bilenler bilir, the worst one was serbia) Anyways for the application to my visa, they required a thing called apostille or apostille approval. It is a kind of an approval that states the related document is also approved internationally. Bilmem anlatabiliyor muyum ? Yamuluyorsam duzeltin.. -Yes eksi sozlukte yazar degiliz artik ama halen piyasayi aynen taakip ediyoruz. ;)

Then, I went nearly to every single governmental place in Istanbul, they sent me from kaymakamlik to municipality and then the courthouse and finally the central courthouse of Iistanbul (Istanbul Justice Palace in Sultanahmet) .. Hani boyle levent kircanin olacak o kadarinda olurdu ya, devlete hafiften dokundurmalar `'bugun git yarin gel' esprileri aynen onlari yasadim yanii. After that I applied for the visa and got it in 7 days thanks to my god..

Flight
Sonra, I took my plane on Friday the day after I got the visa, and of course I went to back streets of Eminonu to buy a new shisha, lokum, elma cayi, nazar boncugu, cezve, kahve falan fistik..
I was late at the airport but I didnt even think to give up to bargain with the policeman for not paying the yurtdisi cikis harci (sth like going abroad fee ). and then of course they did their duty and i paid. :)) hani boyle odememisim gibi basladim, ama odedim yani bayagi..

First day,
i dont remember at all ..but it was hot and Pieter from AIESEC Ehsal picked me up from the airport.. These guys are really cool b/c they made a great surprise that I wont tell here.. If you would like to learn, you have to be a trainee of AIESEC Ehsal.. :)

after a long AIESEC life -most of which is ICX- it was nice to see that there are ppl around you who are doing exactly the same thing you did a couple of yrs ago.. ahh old days ahhh
sonra i came home and slept..

rotterdam -amsterdam
of course one of the best things of this internship is to be close to pinar= my best friend from aiesec. (ozgecim yok of course you are the best as well. i am a lucky girl with 2 best friends :) )
soo i couldnt even wait 4 a day and visited her in rotterdam, she is at AI right now, one of the most important roles in AIESEC world .. Strategic Director (wauw) we were at the transition party but we couldnt hang out with the guys b/c we both werent feeling very ok.. so we came early and cekirdek citladik.. ay i missed so much to cekirdek citlamak with my friends and gossip.. i am sure that many of your ears got deaf b/c that.. (turkish saying again)
and we went to amsterdam on saturday and went to some touristical and historical (!) places of the city and learnt more about dutch culture :))
and then came back home on the same night..

Work..
I once again saw that the big companies really know this thing. They really know how to choose someone for a suitable position .. i wont tell anything else..

Brussels
small.. quite.. but still a nice place to stay for a couple months (or yrs?) in fact it doesnt matter that much where you are as long as you are with the rigth ppl. so that is how i feel now, i havent met with all of them but it looks like there are many things going out here because of the trainees... Haha bi de there is bora.. he is a turk, a trainee like me.. milletin dedikodusu yapmaya basladik zaten coktan .. yok su kizin favorilere bak erol buyukburc kadar, yok su cocugun memelerini ancak 80 numara paklar falan.. neyse daha seviyesizlesmedik ama..

Friends
there are many here.. many there.. rotterdam, paris, somewhere else in france, bonn. frankfurt.. i would like to see all of them, bahar altug fahri jessica levent .. all of them. and of course ppl will come here.. senem, pinar, altug, bahar, jess, falan..they will all come here insallaah..
of course it would be much better if I found a place to stay but i am sure i will make it somehoww..bosveeer :) ona da bi cozum yolu bulunur..

French & Dutch
i would like to learn any of them, but everyone speaks english so nothing forces you to learn, but i will go to a course and most probably to a french one.. and also there is another turkish saying about this subject that i dont want to tell here.. anlayan anladi.. :)

other /baska..
that is all for now, i dont want to bore you with my long posts... bir dahaki sefere gorusene dek, esen kalin efenim..

ps for non turkish, i hope u were able to practise your turkish with the post..
hadi take caree..

What will happen?

After trying to give an exact decision for quite a long time, I have decided that I can't settle down in Tkey for at least 2-3 more yrs. There were still many things for me to do, still many places to see.

Soo I have decided to apply for some AIESEC traineeships (or as they call it now-internships) I have applied 3 and was accepted by 1, by the best one I think: Electrolux Belgium..

I will be working as an OEM purchasing analyst for 6 months (for now), I believe I will be able to get experience in an area I am very much interested in and that will be very suitable for the Turkish market as well (bursalı tedarikcilerimin gozunu seveyim ben)..

Also one of the best parts is to have the chance to travel in Europe a bit, catch up with old friends from AIESEC and visit my dearest Pinar at the AI office.. Ay ozledim kizimm, cekyati ac geliyorum bu haftasonu :)

Yay! can't wait for the adventure..

What happened?! -II

Meanwhile,

I graduated! :) but before that..

after I passed 9 of my subjects in the first semester; I started to look for a job. Because I used to live on my own and couldn't depend on my dads anymore.. and things were not very good with them neither..

Soo I have uploaded my CV to yenibir.com "one of the online recruitment agencies in Tkey and I had a couple of interviews (even for call centers.) However I was accepted by one of the best options. It was a PR company called Paralel Marketing and I was going to be account manager of one of the biggest IT companies (very confidential :P)

I have worked there from the beginning of March to the end of July, and had a really cool experience. The people, especially Zeki abi with his major interest in the treasure hunting, were quite hillarious. It was sad to say goodbye to them, but what can you do? another path was lying ahead...

allah cezami versin su ingilizceye bak, what is this mr brown it is a book mr smith'denn beter oldu.. "Onumde bir yol var beni bekleyen"mis.. heeey heyyyy..

I will never forget them and especially the last day cake and the chaos.. "Eliiiif, cantalar nooldu gelmis miii?" :)

What happened?!

Haven't been posting for 6 months. During these last 6 months, nothing much happened and didn't need to update my blog.

6 months ago, I was living in Sydney, happily ever after with my Aussie MC team. In January, I had to come back to Turkey for only 2 wks to take my exams and I was supposed to go back to Aussieland afterwards..

That was the plan... UNTIL I learnt from my school that due to the system change, I need to attend most of my classes, should also take my midterm exams and the # of the subjects that I had to take increased from 14 to 18..

I had to give a decision; not only me but also with my team mates. However this decision was already given by Marmara University :"if you fail any of the subjects, you will be disbanded." I was already disbanded once, and I couldn't dare to live the same.

Sooo I had to stay in Turkey, had to resign from AIESEC Australia, say goodbye to my team, leave half of my clothing in Sydney and leave my heart (!) there as well..

In fact, so far I was repeating to myself that "that was it; the destiny, there was nothing you could do about it so why feel sad" until I saw the video of a Turkish Star a few days ago. The singer was Rafet El Roman (allah cezasini versin zaten onun), the song was "Ask" (Love) and it was shot it in Sydney. Once I saw it, I started to cry. It was the first time that I cried after I left Australia. It was the first time that I realized I really missed my life down there.. :(((

But somewhere deep inside, I feel that I will go there again, will sit by the Opera House watching the Harbour Bridge and I will meet with those great people again and tell them the things I could have said before..
Thanks Sydney, thanks AIESEC Australia.

Thanks to Brett, John, Mei, Penny, Ralph, Sergey and Tilly.

You can't guess what this 6 months has meant and will ever mean to me;

Thx for everything,

PS: I know it sounds a bit "lame" but it is better than keeping inside..

:)

Tugba
