Those Turkish Beliefs..

Key under the pillow:
if you put a key under your pillow at a place you stay for the first time, you will see the girl/the guy you will marry in the future.

Kiss the girls twice :
if you are kissing a turkish girl on the cheeks, be careful that you kiss the both cheeks (not one or three times) otherwise the girl will be a widow in the future . (though it is very difficult in belgium. it is either one or three)

Slippers straight :
be careful that your slippers dont turn upside down when you get them off, otherwise someone is going to die in your home!

Dreams :
If you see a girl's thing*, in your dream, a male you know is going to die.. and if you see a boy's thing* in your dream, a female you know is going to die!

Rice on the plate:
If you leave rice on your plate after you finish eating, your fiance will dump you before getting married.

most of these are made up by my grandmoms or granddads i guess and all are related either marriage or death..

and these are coming from my Recep (my dad) :
if you bite your nails, you wont have a child in the future.
if you drink too much Turkish coffee, again, you wont have a child in the future.
as you see, It is all about being fertile or not.. :) and i do them both. all the time..

dont know why but i still believe most of them, my favorite is the first one.
i still practise it, the result is : all black.. :)
