Socceroos in the World Cup
Last night my phone rang when I was about to sleep on the couch watching TV. It was my dad calling from Turkey , he sounded very excited and happy..
- Tugba, what are you doing?
- I am at home, about to fall asleep..
- What?!? what are you doing? Why aren't you watching the game of Australia with Uruguay for the World Cup ? What kind of Turkish are you ? Start watching.. Right now..
He just called to tell Aussies had their first goal and told me to watch the game. After the phone call, Sergey, Mei and I started to watch the game on SBS..
The first 90 minutes ended with only one goal from Aussies, and as Uruguay won the first match in Montevideo, the score ended up being 1-1 . The game extended for 30 mins extra time and as there were no goals dur, they need to do penalty shoot outs. Aussies saved 2 penalties and scored 4 which took them to the World Cup finals after a decades-long wait.
It was a victory for Australia after 32 years.. As Turkey wont be able to play in World Cup next year, I found another team to support.. Go Aussies go !! :)

i took the day off specially from work to watch turkey playing...ALAAH ALLAAHH, COK disapointing yani!
yes I know dearest, very disappointing.. If we had only another goal, we would be in the World Cup.. :( I remember last time in 2002, it was so cool; we were watching all the games with the trainees during the whole summer.. :(
